Born May 20, 1976, in Douglasville, Georgia, Travis Tobias Clark has been an inspiration to many. Despite the disadvantages growing up; Elder has become a great Business man, Singer, Song writer, Musician and advocate for God's Word. Receiving Christ into his life at an early age; he always felt there was a call upon his life. At the age of 15; he was asked to sing professionally with Lewis Cobb Jr. and The Douglas County Community Choir. He began to speak to his grandmother the late Sarah B. Clark; she told him to always keep God in your life. Upon graduating from Lithia Springs High School; Elder Clark decided to enlist in the United States Marine Corps in October of 1995 where he learned most of his leadership skills. Elder says, this was his Valley experience but continued in serving Christ. After his tour in desert storm; Clark wanted to heighten his skills as a musician in college and attended West GA College.
Many from Elder Clark's hometown remembers him as a youngster preaching the word as young as 3 years old. I knew I was strange; some kids liked playing with toys, I enjoyed having church, he explains. As an adult Elder Clark remembers the adversary giving him a dilemma. That dilemma was to “sing R&B and make millions or serve God and fight with church folk”, he jokes. Before the decision process had been completed there was a God process already complete. Elder Clark received his Ordination to Elder in February of 2000 through Apostle E. F Morrison and in April of 2003 through Greater Mount Olive Douglasville, GA. Apostle Morrison; whom Elder Clark had not met at the time says that God spoke to him and told him to give Elders Licenses to the powerful prophet, and when Elder Clark and he had cross paths he knew who God was referring to. Elder Clark grew up at Greater Mount Olive and was led and asked by the late Elder Kindall, then pastor, to go up for ordination. The Bishop's Counsel of the Overcoming Church of God stated that Elder had in fact scored the highest out of all the ministers for that year.
Clark says that he still was unclear during the time of ordination. He states; All I know is that God was blessing him with knowledge and gifts on top of knowledge and gifts.Elder Clark said in a 2005 interview with GPB of Upcoming Gospel Artist Review; "Although the road is rough sometimes, my direction is clear, I serve God and I know how to accomplish his order". Elder Clark feels strongly about "Church Interpretation through Church Folk". Often taking on musician roles for free, Elder Clark says, "That it is important that the saints don't be mislead by what's important. Church still must uphold the title of a place of refuge to and through God". Although, Elder Clark is not wealthy; he feels that he have been blessed with richness of life and spirit. Clark has went on to bless the stage with such names as Shirley Caesar, Orlando Draper, John Key, Hez Walker, and many more. Noticing in years past, God's plan to train him as a Gospel artist had began to fully manifest itself. Elder Clark is Currently embarking on a Solo Career in Gospel music as he continues to tare down strong holds through preaching the word of God. Then single with no kids; Elder Clark says that, he doesn't know what the future holds but at this point he is confident that his walk is Christ, his talk is Christ and even his thinking is Christ.
Elder Clark was coming back from a revival in North GA late 2009. where he met the prayer blessing that the Late Mother Sarah Clark left him. Elder Clark met the Mrs. Jessica Glasgow Clark. He says, “I'm glad God sent me an angel that's just as crazy as I am”. Elder Clark stated recently, "In the things I do for God and the things that God has me to do, I haven't ARRIVED yet and may never ARRIVE but one thing you can count on is that I'll be knocking on the door. I mean "real loud!". Elder Clark says that the only thing he knows is to serve Christ, love his wife and practice the fruits of the spirit. Going on almost 20plus years serving Christ through preaching and music; Elder Clark says, “I think it would be plum dumb to stop now”. So he will continue his work and legacy for those after him.
